   Advanced Optoelectronic Technology (AOT)， a Taiwan-based SMD LED maker， announced a cross-licensing agreement for white SMD LEDs with US-based Intematix today. Under the agreement， AOT can manufacture white LEDs based on Intematix-patented technology， by which a blue InGaN (indium gallium nitride) LED is combined with a suitable fluorescent converter.

    Everlight Electronics， Lite-On Technology and Harvatek obtained their patent rights for white LEDs from German Osram Opto Semiconductors.

    Strong orders from South Korea-based handset makers helped AOT reach revenues of NT$2.07 billion last year， up 138.75% on year， according to the company.
